The day after

Snippets of conversations overheard while walking through campus:
"-no point in rioting now, this election was legit-"
"-shit's gonna hit the fan-"
"-this administration is racist, sexist, and agist- how can people not realize that?-"
"-but from a black woman's perspective, it's-"
"-great. That's just great- I really feel good about my home state now, WAY TO GO, OHIO!-"
"-Mom. I cannot believe you actually- mom. Did you just forget that film we watched together, because it seems like you did-"
"-the most inane-"
"-how could the American people be so stupid?!"

Me at Chinese lunch table, spewing angry Zhonglish:
"Wo bu mingbai de shi, weishenme wo men nominated Kerry? Shei dou bu xihuan ta! Women bu tai congmingle!" Only I was so angy everything was coming out fourth tones.

It's not just stupidity, though- let's give our compatriots some credit. I'd say it's a pretty balanced mix of stupidity, selfishness, obstinacy, obliviousness, and greed.
